Q: How much does it cost for Summer Camp?
A: $25 Due at time of registration and $25 due on first day of camp. Total of $50 up until June 15th then it will go up to $100 total. PITTSBURG's SDC is free this year thanks to Pittsburg USD.
Q: What should my child wear to Summer Camp?
A: Please have your child dress comfortable each day to camp with comfortable shoes. They wil have the chance to remove shoes as they feel fit during class. We also ask if you have a sarong/ie lavalava at home we would love your child to bring it with them to class. On 1st day of Summer Camp we issue each PRE-REGISTERED camper a camp shirt. We ask that your child wear their Camp shirt to the last day of camp, or you can purchase multiple shirts for your child to wear to camp everyday.
Q: Does my child have to bring a bag lunch to Camp?
A: We will provide a bag lunch for each camper each day. If you want to send your child to camp with a lunch, that is perfectly fine too. Please let us know asap if your child has a food allergy that we need to know of. If this is the case we ask that you provide your Child with lunch for camp.
Q: What if I can't afford to send my children to Camp?
A: If you are unable to pay for camp, please contact us. We would love to work out something with you to help your child come to camp.
Q: What if my child is a handful?
A: If your child is a handful, and it is taking away time from our other campers we will politely ask you to come and pick up your child.
Q: Can I use Summer Camp as a day care service?
A: We are not a daycare service!
Q: Can I just drop my child off to camp without filling out the neccessary paper work?
A: No you cannot! We are only responsible for children who are registered in our program. If we do not have paperwork/registration on your child and you just drop them off we will have no choice but to call CPS.
Q: How old does my child have to be to attend Camp?
A: We take 3rd Graders - 12th Grade. We need each camper to be able to take instruction, and follow it through. This doesn't mean we won't take campers who are younger, it just means we are not here to babysit. If your child is capable of following instructions, and not be distrubtive during class we are more than happy to have your baby. Every camper has to be able to go to the bathroom when needed.
Q: Should I give my child a snack for Camp?
A: YES! If you know your child has a healthy appetite please be sure to send him/her with a snack or two. If we are blessed this year with funding for snacks, we will be more than happy to provide the snacks. But at this time we are only able to provide lunch for each camper. Please send your camper with a water bottle as well.
Q: Does my child have to be Pacific Islander to participate in Poly Atamai?
A: No. Our Summer Day Camps are geared towards Pacific Islanders but open to all.
